The start of 2019 represented the lowest inventory of homes for sale in the Coachella Valley in the last 10 years.  To say it’s been tough to find great properties here is an understatement.  If you think you are going to find that dream home here for the right price; you are going to need the help of an expert real estate agent. 

This month we chatted with Mike Aubry, one of the premier real estate agents in La Quinta to discuss his business, how he got started and why he chose Fusion Workplaces Palm Desert.

Tell us about Desert Valley Realty Solutions?

I work with Desert Valley Realty Solutions as a Real Estate Agent. I buy, sell, lease and manage real property. I also evaluate investments, refer out to other real estate agents across the world, and help families locate homes to buy. I enjoy helping our community heroes (i.e. doctors, nurses, firefighters, policeman, etc.).
How did you get started in your real estate?

I have been in the industry since 1988. I started out cleaning homes and helping my mom out with her investment properties. I have a background in managing restaurants and storage facilities. I realized I couldn’t be a dad and be as involved with the long hours I was working. Nearly 15 years later, I decided to get my license at the height of the real estate boom in 2003. I moved out to the Desert and started managing properties. Sixteen years later I am still enjoying what I do and have been very successful doing it.
What is something about your business that most people do not know?

Being an owner of your own business doesn’t always afford you your personal freedom. We still have to answer to owners, directors, tenants, realty groups and we have a very heavy phone.
Where do you see your business in 5 years?

Gone are the days of your traditional real estate office. Everything is becoming more and more virtual. This allows me to work the entire state and partner with owners and prospective investors all over.  
Tell me about yourself?

I am very work oriented, and I love living vicariously through my 3 kids; ages 21, 16 and 11. I am active in church and love to play sports, coach sports and give back to the community. Those are just some of the things I do to enjoy life.
When not helping people buy and sell properties, what are you passionate about?

I am an AVID soccer fan; however, I also love any and all sports (especially during playoff time!). The teams I follow are in the MidAtlantic: Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore Ravens, and our local LA teams. I enjoy coaching sports, and, in the winter, I ski and during the summer I surf.
Why did you choose Fusion Workplaces and how has working here helped your business?

I have a virtual office here at Fusion Workplaces Palm Desert (coworking package). The office staff affords quite a bit of flexibility. I have been able to make better use of my time by using the amenities and staff for things I may not have time for.
